Cashless payments double chance in the new cycle of the prize game

The registration for the new cycle of the "Take the receipt and win" prize game started on april 8th. Within the prize fund of 1.9 million euros, 10 apartments will be distributed. Finance Minister Siniša Mali emphasized that receipts paid by cards will count double to promote cashless transactions. He also mentioned that the application has been enhanced, and scanning the codes now proceeds faster than before.

The first draw in the new cycle of the "Take the receipt and win 2024" prize game will be on may 11th, and the last one on june 8th. As part of the prize fund, 10 apartments in the Zemunske Kapije neighborhood in Belgrade will be distributed.

"There will be two one-and-a-half-room and two-room apartments, five three-room apartments, and one four-room duplex of 102 square meters. Citizens who wish to participate in the prize game should know that all previous orders have been deleted, and they must register again, and they can add up to four more members to the application," said Mali.

The new round also brings a novelty for cashless payments - each receipt gets a unique alphanumeric code in the application, and if the receipt records a cashless payment method (by card, instant payment, etc.), an additional code is provided.

According to Minister Mali, the application has been improved, and now scanning QR codes is faster than before.

"Last year's "Take the receipt and win" prize game yielded excellent results as it involved more than a million citizens who submitted 259 million receipts," Mali emphasized.

Director of the Tax Administration Dragana Marković stated that the new fiscalization model covers around 150,000 taxpayers and about 220,000 retail outlets.

"Between nine and ten million fiscal receipts are issued daily, and there are days, mostly before major holidays that we are approaching, when this number is significantly higher. Last year, before Easter, 13 million receipts were issued in one day," she said.

Nikola Vuletić, a member of the NALED Executive Board and president of the UniCredit Bank Serbia Executive Board, emphasized that the shadow economy still poses a serious threat to economic progress and legal business, and that more than 6.5 billion euros are turned over annually in that zone. In a recent survey, NALED members identified it as a priority for the new government.

"We will continue to support the Government in implementing the Program to Combat the Shadow Economy until 2025, which has established clear guidelines for further systemic reforms and priorities. Among the key aspects are transparent and cashless payments, which are of great interest to society as a whole because they contribute to better control over cash flows and thus reduce the shadow economy, and this prize game contributes directly to that goal," Vuletić said.

He reminded that within the "Better Way" initiative, a program of subsidies for the free introduction of POS terminals and software for card payments, mobile payments, or QR codes has been launched for 25,000 small shops and counters throughout Serbia. All interested entrepreneurs can apply at one of the nine participating banks or via the website boljinacin.rs
