The data of 15 healthcare institutions will soon be available in the State data center

Under the agreement between the Ministry of Health and the Office for IT and eGovernment, the relocation of software solutions containing patient treatment data from healthcare centers and hospitals across Serbia to the State Data Center in Kragujevac has commenced. This center adheres to the highest security standards in data storage.

This process marks the beginning of consolidating all healthcare data into the eHealth Record, which will be a unified centralized registry of healthcare data for all patients. The first nine healthcare institutions whose systems have already been migrated include Grocka Health Center, Rekovac Health Center, Bujanovac Health Center, Mali Zvornik Health Center, General Hospital Prokuplje, Raška Health Center, Kuršumlija Health Center, Novi Kneževac Health Center, and Sremska Mitrovica General Hospital. The migration of Novi Beograd Health Center's system is planned to be completed by the end of April, with five more institutions scheduled for migration by the end of May. This initiates a phased process that will eventually encompass all healthcare institutions in Serbia.

The goal of data consolidation is to achieve more efficient patient treatment, facilitate easier access to data for both healthcare professionals and patients, improve healthcare service planning and resource allocation for treatment, and integrate data from both private and public healthcare sectors. The migration process is accompanied by the construction of the Republic of Serbia's unified healthcare network, which will connect all healthcare institutions, enabling reliable and secure data exchange, as well as the development of future advanced healthcare service solutions.

The migration of local healthcare systems is one of the activities outlined in the Action plan for digitalization in Healthcare, prepared with the support of the CHISU project funded by USAID.
