Increased prize fund for the best online classes, six days left for applications

There are only six days left until the deadline for elementary school and highschool teachers and professional associates to apply for the competition selecting of the best remote teaching examples. In just over a month, as many as 336 applications from all over Serbia were received through the www.jpd.rs website, so the organizers of the competition provided an additional prize fund for the 12 best chosen by the audience and professional jury, with the support of Comtrade, Telegroup, Eurobank and Laguna.

Applications for the competition under the "Magic is in the Teacher's Hands" slogan can be submitted until midnight on May 31, while the audience voting is possible until June 7, 2020, so that all interested parents, students and the general public can go through all the presented examples.

In just 10 days, more than 25,000 people supported their favorites with almost 80,000 votes on the www.jpd.rs website. Voting is designed so that 10 votes can be distributed from one account, with a maximum of three votes per application. The prize for the remote teaching example that wins the most audience votes is a smartphone of the latest generation.

Based on the the professional jury’s evaluation, six more special prizes and five main ones will be awarded. A laptop is provided for the best use of digital tools and for the best interaction with students, and prizes will be awarded in two categories - for elementary schools and highschools. A special prize for the best project teaching is a smartphone, and the best example of TV teaching will be a TV set with a camera.

The prizes for the first place in the competition and the best rated remote teaching example are a study trip to Estonia and Finland and a laptop, while the teacher’s school will receive a TV set with a camera. The second place will win a laptop and a smartphone, and for the third, fourth and fifth place, the prize is a laptop. The best rated teachers will also receive e-book vouchers, while all highlighted examples will be included in a unique online best remote teaching examples in Serbia database.

The call for proposals was launched by NALED and the Connecting Career and Youth Entrepreneurship Development Organization, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, the Institute for the Improvement of Education, the Public Policy Secretariat of the Republic of Serbia and the Radio Television of Serbia within the Public-Private Dialogue for Development project supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
