State reform activities - what has been done between the two Doing Business reports


The Doing Business list measures the performance of a company during its "life cycle" and its annual report provides an assessment and allows comparison of business conditions in 190 economies of the world. For a better understanding of the business environment, the World Bank assesses the quality of the regulatory framework and its application in practice across ten areas.

In June 2020, the Government adopted the Program for Improving the Position of the Republic of Serbia on the World Bank's ranking list on business conditions - Doing Business for the period 2020-2023 which contains an Action Plan with defined measures to be taken concerning ten indicators measured by the World Bank. The action plan foresees a number of activities that need to be undertaken for the introduction of electronic procedures, transparent operations, more economical and efficient administrative procedures that will contribute to the improvement of the business environment in three years.

In order to review the effects of state reform activities between the two reporting periods from May 2, 2020, to April 30, 2021, this document brings together the most important activities of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Ministry of Mining and Energy, Agency for Business Registers, the Republic Geodetic Authority and other competent authorities.
