Join the glass packaging collection action in Niš and win special awards

On Tuesday, August 24, on Kralja Milana Square in Niš, in the period from 18h to 21h, bring three glass bottles or jars for recycling and get special prizes in return.

NALED, German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ), Sekopak and Apatin Brewery invite you to this action within the project "Management of glass packaging in the Western Balkans", in order to raise awareness of the importance of packaging waste recycling, with a special focus on glass.

Why the glass?

Did you know that recycling a glass bottle saves enough energy for a 100W light bulb to glow for four hours, and that glass is one of two materials known to man that can be infinitely recycled?

Also, the recycling of one ton of glass reduces air pollution by 20% compared to the emission of gases during the production of a new one, and it also brings great savings of water and energy.

Unfortunately, today most of it ends up in landfills, where this packaging takes more than 5,000 years to decompose. However, at the beginning of the year, thanks to the project "Management of glass packaging in the Western Balkans", the city of Niš received 300 recycling containers, in order to improve local waste management.

Join us in achieving the goal of increasing the rate of glass recycling in Nis by 20 percent and support the preservation of the environment in your city!

A prize quiz is ready for all visitors, through which they will be able to test their knowledge about the recycling of glass packaging waste.

What can be recycled?

Glass bottles, glass jars and baby food jars.

What can't be recycled?

Window, car and other flat glass, as well as fireproof, laboratory and reinforced glass, mirrors and light bulbs can't be recycled in glass containers.
